Description

M33 - The Triangulum Galaxy. Open face spiral galaxy in the Constellation of Triangulum.
Third largest of the Local Group - behind Andromeda and the Milky Way.
Spans approximately 20K LY and is 3 million LY distant.
Lots of apparent blue star clusters and pink star forming regions. Core seems bright but not well defined.

Used Pixinsight's new SPCC Spectrophotometric Color Calibration - worked as advertised out of the box - just accepted the satisfactory result without further experimentation.

I have gone around the sun once with my SharpStar EDPHII 61 and enjoyed some ‘wider’ field imaging. I have replaced the little wonder with my Stellarvue SVX 102 with the addition of a new .74 flattener / reducer to maintain some of the wider field imaging perspective. M33 is the first light for the .74. Pixinsight indicates the FL 524 mm, FR 5.25 and a resolution of 1.5 a/s using the ZWO ASI1600. Not dissimilar from the 80 mm scope I started with.

I am pleased with the image given the integration time. Hope you like it too.
